The Z-11 features latching relays which, once tuned, can be powered off and operated on your selected frequency band with no current draw from your power source. One design specs was that the Z-11 must be capable of being operated from two NiCd rechargeable 9V batteries, which should easily provide a weekend of QRPing from your favorite remote location. The Z-11 QRP Autotuner is a high-efficiency, microprocessor-controlled, switched "L" network designed to work with Dipoles, Verticals, Inverted Vees, Beams or any coax fed antenna in the 1.8 - 30.0 MHz range. It's small size and weight make it perfect for use with the FT-817. It has 1.8-30.0 MHz coverage, tunes 6 to 800 ohm loads (10:1 SWR range) and a power range from 0.1 to 60 watts (30 watts continuous). The optional One Quick Switch (ask us) allows the Z-11 to go to a "sleep mode" when not actually tuning. This minimizes battery drain and is especially useful when operating in the field on batteries. Works great with the One-Touch Tune OTT-817 for true single touch tuning of the radio-tuner-antenna system. The OTT-817 is not available now.
