LDG AT-897 Autotuner |
|
The AT-897 tunes 6 to 800 ohm loads, 10:1 SWR. Tunes in 0.6 to 8 seconds, typically 4 seconds for large impedance changes and only a second or so for small changes in impedance such as when QSYing in the same band. Covers 1.8 to 54 MHz. Requires as little as 100 mW RF to tune and can handle over 100 W. AT-897 is powered directly by the FT-897 whether an external power supply or the internal battery is used. Current consumption of the AT-897 is effectively zero until the AT-897 Tune Button is depressed; during tuning, the AT-897 consumes only about 200 microamp-hour of charge per tune. This means that you can perform 1,000 tunes and only consume less than 5% of the FT-897's battery capacity! Truly outstanding power efficiency. NO, repeat NO, FAN! Saves energy and mitigates fan noise. Latching relays. The AT-897 plugs into the FT-897 CAT/LINEAR jack. A CAT feedthrough jack is provided on the rear of the AT-897. Yes, you can have both autotuning and CAT! Pressing the AT-897 Tune Button quickly allows you to bypass the AT-897; pressing it for over 1/2 second will start the tuning process. A (red) LED indicator informs you when the AT-897 is tuning. The Y-ACC cable, which is included with the AT-897 Autotuner, replaces the OTT-897 or Y-OTT when used with the FT-897 or FT-857. When you press the tune button on the radio, the radio switches for the tuning duration into the CW mode and then returns to the previous operating mode.
